I am always up in Vermont for Columbus Day weekend.  I look forward to the three-day weekend and any time I go to Vermont is a dream. Vermont is a popular destination on Columbus weekend because people love to come up and look at the fall foliage. The colors are magnificent.   Sometimes, driving through the mountains I feel as if I’m driving through a valley of fire because of all the intense red and orange leaves.  I have a different take on looking at the colors of autumn leaves.  While they are gorgeous when they are still on the trees, I have an affinity for the fallen leaves.  As they pile up, especially in the woods, the colors take on the quality of melted crayons in wax paper.  Here is an earthy sample.
